Acupuncture in Mississauga — Needle and Laser
Acupuncture for pain, chronic conditions and post-MVA rehabilitation, delivered by Registered Acupuncturists (CTCMPAO). For patients who prefer no needles, we also offer laser acupuncture.
Two approaches, one framework
- Needle acupuncture. Sterile, single-use, hair-thin needles inserted into specific points and left in place for 15–30 minutes. The most evidence-supported approach.
- Laser acupuncture. A low-level laser stimulates the same points without needles. Useful for needle-averse patients, children, and patients on anticoagulants where bruising is a concern.
What to expect
A Registered Acupuncturist takes a focused history, examines the relevant area and explains the point selection before any needle is placed. You lie comfortably while the needles are in. Most patients feel a brief, mild prick on insertion and then relax — many fall asleep. After the session you might feel light or sleepy for an hour or two; this passes.
What we treat

- Post-MVA pain that has not resolved with physio and massage alone

Frequently asked questions
Does acupuncture hurt?
No, in the sense most people mean. There is a brief sensation on needle insertion and sometimes a dull ache (de qi) at the point, which is part of the effect.
Is it covered by insurance?
Accident benefits and most extended-health plans cover Registered Acupuncture. Direct billing supported.
How many sessions?
Most pain conditions respond in 4–8 sessions. Chronic conditions may need maintenance.
Are the needles re-used?
Never. We use sterile, single-use, disposable needles.
