In-Home Therapy & PSW
In-Home Therapy, PSW and Attendant Care
Most of our in-home patients are recovering from a motor vehicle accident or a workplace injury serious enough that travel by car or transit is too painful, unsafe, or simply impossible. Some are older patients post-stroke or post-surgery. The goal is always the same: stabilise function at home, then transition back to clinic-based care.
Services we deliver at home
- In-home physiotherapy. A Registered Physiotherapist comes to your home with portable equipment, performs the same assessment as in clinic, and delivers active rehab and manual therapy in your living room.
- In-home occupational therapy. OT focuses on the practical: getting in and out of bed, the bathroom, the kitchen, the car. We do a home safety walkthrough and recommend equipment funded by your insurer where appropriate.
- Personal Support Workers (PSW). Trained PSWs assist with hygiene, transfers, medication reminders, light meal preparation and supervised mobility — under a written care plan reviewed by an OT or RN.
- Attendant care. For patients eligible under SABS attendant-care benefits (Form 1) — hourly support with personal care, supervision and mobility.
- Transportation to clinic. When you are ready, we coordinate wheelchair-accessible transport between your home and our Mississauga clinic.
How it works
Step one: a call to (905) 602-8998. We confirm coverage (auto insurance, WSIB, LTD, or self-pay) and schedule an in-home assessment within 1–3 business days.
Step two: the assessment. A Registered OT or PT visits, evaluates, and drafts a care plan — what we will deliver at home, how often, and for how long.
Step three: care begins. You see the same small set of clinicians week to week, in your home. As you improve, sessions move to clinic; transportation is arranged.

Frequently asked questions
Is in-home covered by my insurance?
Under auto-insurance accident benefits, in-home physiotherapy, OT and attendant care (Form 1) are covered. WSIB covers in-home rehab when authorised. Extended health varies by plan.
What area do you cover?
Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Etobicoke and adjacent communities in Peel and Halton. Other areas case-by-case.
Will I see the same person every visit?
We aim for continuity. A small care team is assigned to each patient.
Can I switch back to clinic later?
Yes — that is the usual trajectory. When you are ready, we transition you to clinic and coordinate transportation if needed.
