Psychology & Counselling

Psychology and Counselling in Mississauga

Registered Psychologists and Psychotherapists treating post-accident PTSD, anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders. We provide assessment and treatment, and we work with auto insurers, lawyers and case managers.

After a serious injury, your body is not the only thing that needs care. Many of our MVA patients arrive with sleep disruption, intrusive memories of the crash, driving avoidance, irritability, or simply a low mood that does not lift. These are normal reactions to an abnormal event — and they respond to treatment.

Approaches we use

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The most evidence-supported approach for anxiety, depression, PTSD and adjustment difficulties.
  • Trauma-focused CBT and prolonged exposure. For driving avoidance and post-accident PTSD when standard CBT is not sufficient.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For chronic pain, adjustment to disability, and complicated grief.
  • Psychological assessment. Diagnostic interview and standardised testing for medico-legal and treatment-planning purposes.
  • Neuropsychological assessment. For traumatic brain injury, concussion sequelae and other cognitive concerns — see the dedicated Assessments page.

What to expect

Your first session is a structured intake — your history, current symptoms, what has helped and not helped, and the goals you want to work on. We agree on a working plan. Most treatment plans run 8–20 sessions. You are not committed beyond what is helping you.

Confidentiality is governed by PHIPA. Records are kept securely. If your treatment is funded by auto insurance, WSIB or LTD, the funder receives only what is required by law to authorise continued treatment — not the content of your sessions.
